I learned to quilt from my best friend and mentor Sharon (this is Sharon with my daughter)
5 years ago on the third floor of her house. At the time, I was a high school art teacher and never would have thought I would someday own a longarm quilt machine (I wouldn't have had a clue what that was back then!) and be so passionate about quilting!
Now, I live and breathe quilting.....I love the whole process of making a quilt and everything about it- from choosing colors and fabrics, the feel of fabric, design and layout, piecing, and of course quilting it! The only part I do not like, or do is the binding! I am lucky enough to have a mother-in-law who is just as passionate about quilting, and is always willing to do my bindings for me- how lucky am I?!
I love doing custom quilting on quilt tops, creating texture, and making the quilt 'come alive.'
I tend to be more of a modern quilter, and am involved in a modern group from my local quilt guild.
I also love to travel to various quilt shows and take classes from the wonderful and inspiring people who motivate me daily to be better- someday I hope to be teaching again, but this time- QUILTING :)
